Potrait of Lawyer William W. Hughes II A Colorado native, I was born in Greeley in 1977. I graduated from Greeley Central High school, and went on to the University of Colorado at Boulder. While at Boulder, I studied a variety of subjects finding it difficult to pick just one area of concentration. in 2000 I graduated with Bachelor's of Arts in Anthropology and International Affairs, and a minor in Environmental Biology. As part of my degree in International Affairs, I had the opportunity to study and live in Brussels, Belgium. Following graduation from CU, I attended the University of Denver School of Law where I concentrated on Business Law and International Transactions.

After graduation from DU Law School, I was admitted to practice law in the state of Colorado in 2003. For the next four years, I worked at Winters, Hellerich & Hughes, LLC in Greeley, Colorado. (Originally Brega and Winters, P.C.) At Winters, Hellerich & Hughes, my primary practice areas were debt management including chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy, and negotiated settlement, and business transactions including choice of entity, contract drafting, and formation. I also have experience in immigration, misdemeanor criminal defense, and dispute resolution. In addition, during my time at Winters, Hellerich and Hughes I was the acting city prosecutor for Johnstown, Colorado.

In addition to practicing law, I have also worked for the United States Department of State in Washington DC in the area of non-proliferation, and for the Geology Department of the University of Colorado as a paleontology lab and field assistant. Finally, not to brag, but I like to think that I was perhaps the finest golf course range picker in the history of the Boomerang Golf Course.

My other interests include travel, skiing, cooking, languages, golf, and SCUBA diving.
